Your Centtrip card can hold up to 15 different currencies at once – ideal if you’re on the road.
If your card is loaded with sterling, euros and US dollars, and you make a purchase in, say, New York, the transaction will be taken from your US dollar balance.
That means you avoid the “foreign currency transaction” charges that normal cards charge, and you dodge the disadvantageous exchange rates usually charged by card companies and domestic banks.
If you fly to Paris – or simply buy online from a French site while in your New York hotel room – the euro transaction will come from your euro balance.
All your card transactions, including ATM withdrawals – when you select the ATM’s option to “process the transaction in local currency” – will automatically be taken from the correct currency balance on your card.
No post-trip surprises when you discover what that purchase really cost you.
